Description
In 2020, the British Fashion Council launched the Institute of Positive Fashion (IPF) to address the UK fashion industry’s environmental and social impact. As a climate think and action tank, the IPF brings together the industry to accelerate business change through its cross-sector programmes. Shailja’s work is about helping to create major direction changes for UK fashion, and is responsible for the strategy and delivery of the BFC's climate action. She curates the BFC's annual sustainability event, the IPF Forum and develops programmes across the IPF’s three pillars: Business Change through Circularity, Climate & Nature, and Social Change. In her role, Shailja regularly speaks at industry events, including Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and has been a guest on the BBC’s World at One.
Prior to the BFC, Shailja was Responsible Retail Lead at Accenture UK where she focused on the intersection of sustainability and business, and held business strategy, digital transformation, innovation, and social policy roles. Shailja holds a BEng in Mechanical and Environmental Engineering, MSc in Product Innovation, and is an alumnus of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.
