Note as a public intellectual, The Reverend Professor Keith Magee Th.D., FRHistS, FRSA , is Senior Fellow and Professor of Practice in Cultural Justice at University College London (UCL) Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP), where he leads Black Britain and Beyond, a think-tank and social policy platform, and is also a Fellow at its Centre on U.S. Politics (CUSP). Equally essential, he is Chair of The Guardian Foundation.
The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan appointed him as a Commissioner on Diversity in the Public Realm. He also serves on the London Metropolitan Police Service Cultures and Strategy Board and as Co-Chair of the London Police Black Policing Advisory Panel advising the Met. He is a Trustee of the U.S. - U.K. Fulbright Commission, Foundation for Louisiana and Gallery of Living History. He is a lead with the UNESCO Dialogues for Reparatory Justice programme.
As a dyslexic, one of Dr Magee's most significant accomplishments is being a co-creator of the Multicultural Initiative at Yale (University) Center for Dyslexia and Creativity. He has secured over $25 million to develop programmes and initiatives that advocate for and support dyslexia.
Dr. Magee is the author of the award-winning Prophetic Justice: On Race, Religion and Politics (2024), Hero Likes Reading but Reading is Hard (2024), Paper Tigers: Adverse Children Experience Studies, Faith Leaders Guide (2016) and A Prayer for Our Children (2014). He is the editor of Mercies: New Every Morning (2024) and was commissioned to write the foreword for Towards the Compassionate School: From Golden Rule to Golden Thread (2015). He is a CNN, NBC, BBC, TIME, and LSE contributor—on issues of social justice, politics, race, and religion.
