Description
Benn Wiebe (he/they) is a founder, creative producer, partnership executive, and social impact strategist. Winner of the SXSW Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary (“Beautiful Something Left Behind”), and an Oscar Shortlist Nominee. At HFP, where he serves as the Vice Chairman and Executive Producer, he has delivered film festivals in 13 countries. He has over 20 years experience in film, games, live events, with Sony, MTV, Vice, Netflix, Sybo (Subway Surfers), and social impact organisations UN Live, Count Us In, Safe in our World. An American immigrant, who has lived across the US, Denmark, the UK. Benn is an active member of the UN’s Arts & Culture Working Group, Producers Guild of America, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and Danmarks Film Akademi. He mentors for IGDA, Creative UK, East London Arts & Music, and has been appointed to Advisory Councils of Earth300, Hollywood Climate Summit, Screen South, Think Film, Global Environment Media, Treun House Atelier. As part of these organizations, Benn works to represent creative experts who also push for normalizing sustainability, mental health, and speaks on these topics at events like GDC, SXSW, Gamescom, Paris Olympics, and more. As an advocate for mental health and Sustainability, he helps provide an action path for interested creative practitioners.
