Join us in celebrating 75 years of legendary music and songwriting! TRO Essex Music, headquartered in New York and London, is one of the world’s largest and longest-running independent music publishers, representing a genre-spanning catalog that has shaped generations.

Founded in 1949 by music visionary Howie Richmond, TRO Essex helped define the sound of the modern era through iconic works by Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly, Bill Evans, Black Sabbath, Pete Townshend, Pink Floyd, Lonnie Donegan, Marc Bolan, and more. We’re inviting you to the TRO Essex 75th Anniversary Showcase at SXSW London on June 3rd at Hoxton Hall. This special event will feature rising talent from Canada, the UK, and the US signed to our new label, Shamus Records—artists carrying our legacy into the future while paying tribute to the songs that brought us here.
