Description
Joshua Idehen is a British-Nigerian poet and musician based in Sweden, whose unique voice and presence have established him as a force to be reckoned with in both the UK jazz scene and Europe’s alternative music world. Rooted in spoken word and driven by a passion for genre-defying soundscapes, he has over the years crafted a style that is as emotional as it is intellectual — where words and music merge into something deeply human.
In 2023, he released the critically acclaimed Learn To Swim, A Mixtape — a journey through the highs and lows of life, where every track feels like a diary entry written in both fury and tenderness.
His most recent release, the 2024 EP Mum Does the Washing, is a more stripped-back but equally powerful piece. On stage, Joshua is a force of nature. With a presence that grips every audience member and a voice that moves between tenderness and ferocity, he has spent the past few years touring extensively across Europe. Currently in the midst of a major European tour — his performances are more than just gigs. They are gatherings, conversations, and at times, near-religious experiences where words and music carry the crowd together. As he says himself, with a smile between the lines: "All you can do is try."
