Description
Victoria Thomas is a Scotland-based filmmaker, creative entrepreneur, and founder of Republic of Story®, a company developing fiction, documentary, and film-tech innovation. Her machine learning–based film discovery app, created as Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Edinburgh's School of Design Informatics, won the Canon Innovation Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival, and was later funded by Creative Europe and selected for EFM Startups and Storytek Estonia. She is currently the Course Leader for the MA International Film Business program at London Film School and lectures on media and creative industries policy and practice at Queen Margaret University. Her research focuses on economic equity in European cinema, and she is a full voting member of BAFTA Scotland, BAFTA UK and the European Film Academy.
