Done In spite of You

Hannah is a London-born, London-based director and artist. Her work is rooted in an unapologetically Black and feminist lens, and reclaims the dismissive institutional label, "outsider artist." Everything she does is rooted in DIY ethics, and the conviction to be always learning, always almost-disciplined.

Her film work has screened at Flickerfest, Encounters, Frieze, Bamberger Kurzfilmtage, London Super Shorts, Whitechapel Gallery and the Southbank Centre amongst others. She's currently working on a commission from Tate about the UK's first Black queer archive, and leading a VR project about the UK's missing migrant children who arrived as unaccompanied minors, in partnership with Phosphoros Theatre.

In March she attended SXSW, Texas, as one of three immersive artists participating in British Underground's Future Art and Culture Programme. Her self-funded narrative short, 'skin hunger winter love', premiered at Flickerfest in January 2025 and is currently on the Shiny Creators List.
