Following his 2019 breakout This Is Not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection, filmmaker and visual artist Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese returns to his home of Lesotho to reflect on the diasporic experience of living in exile in Berlin. Based on Mosese’s 2023 eponymous exhibition and intimately narrated by the filmmaker, Ancestral Visions of the Future is a singular, time-bending experimental work that floods the big screen with dreamlike, striking imagery of a childhood relived through joy and an aching sense of pained displacement.
